Stuart Harris - December update
Happy New Year to all, and now we really are just a few weeks away from the big event!
December was certainly a busy month with many customers across all my regions commenting that there had been little sign of any December slow down, and some who were actually expressing concern that with only a few working days left before the Christmas break there was little sign of equipment being off hired!
Following on from all my previous Show visits, I had just a small number of customers left which I still wanted to visit in my allotted area of North Yorkshire, to ensure they are fully up to date on the Show.
With this in mind I made a further journey across the M62 and headed north into York. Here I met with a regular visitor to the show, who confirmed he had made 10 previous visits!, and they are very much looking forward to visiting the next show, to seek out more new products and additions for their fleet, however they respectfully asked not to mention their name, so it has to be Scouts honour on this one.
Later in the day I met with Tim Hobson Depot Manager at A-Plant, York. Tim started with A-Plant in1998 and has experienced many challenges during that time, however he still has a great passion for hire and this has clearly rubbed off with the rest of his team. While there Tim confirmed they continue to be very busy with no apparent slow down for the Christmas break. We spoke about the show, and he expects that A-Plant will be well represented as visitors, and seeking out new innovative products to offer their customers in the very near future.
On arrival at Brandon Hire, York there was no visible appearance just yet of new owner Hire Station, however there is clearly a lot of pride in the presentation of the depot. I met with Lewis Gotch, Depot Manager, who has an abundance of enthusiasm. We had a catch up on business and then spoke about the show which he has previously visited twice. Lewis expressed that his visits had proved to be very valuable and if the opportunity appears to visit again in 2018 he will grasp it with both hands.
Further visits were also made in the region including York Survey Centre which specialises in hire and sales of survey equipment. Here I met with Bill in their very impressive and well stocked showroom. Bill was not aware of the show and was appreciative of my visit and bringing this to their attention for further discussion.
That just about wraps it up for now, and I look forward to seeing you all at the show where you are assured of a warm welcome, new products and a great deal !!
